About Me
Hello! My name is Sarah, and I am a freelance journalist based in Brooklyn, New York. I graduated from Brooklyn College’s Journalism and Media Studies program in May of 2026. During my studies, I contributed to the program-facilitated news service and reported in the policy and criminal justice beats, with a human impact-focused angle. My studies prepared me to practice journalism in a variety of mediums, and to meet deadlines while upholding exceptional attention to detail and journalistic integrity. I have a lifelong passion for investigative journalism, social justice, and criminal justice reform. I also have extensive political organizing experience and have contributed to a variety of political and humanitarian aid campaigns. My organizing experience has taught me teamwork, dedication, and the knowledge that informed citizens can spark societal change. I aim to further refine my multimedia and investigative reporting skills, and to give a voice to those historically excluded from legacy media. I hope for my work to create informed, empowered, and self-determining communities.
I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Outside of journalism, I enjoy reading, volunteering in my community, continuing to explore NYC, and going on research deep-dives.
